The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-based Bilal Football Club has been crowned champions of the Kampala Central Division Football 2nd Division League after a commanding 4-0 victory over KS Sparta 09 Football Club in the league final.
The championship match was played at the Buganda Road Sports Ground in Central Kampala, with Bilal FC producing a dominant display from start to finish.
Led by captain Luwemba Naswiri, Bilal FC, dressed in white jerseys with blue stripes, controlled possession throughout the game and mounted relentless attacks that overwhelmed Sparta 09's defence. Their impressive performance culminated in four unanswered goals, sealing the league title in convincing fashion.
“This victory reflects the team's hard work, discipline and determination throughout the season,” said Sheikh Juma Cucu, the UMSC Education and Sports official who represented the Mufti at the awards ceremony.
“We congratulate the players and technical team for making the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council proud through sports excellence,” he added.
Following the final whistle, players from the championship-winning side were presented with silver-coated medals during an awards ceremony officiated by Sheikh Juma Cucu. The event was also attended by UMSC Accountant Madam Afua Mugumya.
The triumph marks another milestone for Bilal FC and highlights the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council's continued commitment to promoting youth development, nurturing talent and empowering young people through sports.
The victory also reinforces the growing role of community-based sports programmes in identifying and developing football talent while fostering discipline, teamwork and leadership among young athletes.
